South Africa’s only national circuit racing series catering for exotic machinery, G & H Extreme Supercars, will add a new name to its ranks at the forthcoming round  at Zwartkops on  3 September.

A veteran of many years in local racing circles, Franco Di Matteo, will throw his hat into the ring with an entirely self built Alfa Romeo GT, powered by a 3.7 litre twin turbo V6 engine. Varta Batteries, Amtec Lubricants and The Truck Man are the title sponsors.

The affable and popular Di Matteo was the the last V8 Supercars National Champion in 2014, and is the current Regional V8 Champion, a title he will continue to defend alongside his new commitment to G & H Extreme Supercars. This devoted family man, and successful businessman is also a keen sportsman outside racing circles. He holds a black belt in karate, and was crowned World Karate Federation Champion in 2009.

With so much racing experience and sporting pedigree, Franco Di Matteo’s presence will bolster G & H Extreme Supercars’ growing attraction for local motorsport enthusiasts.”

According to his fans “The presence of an Alfa Romeo GT on the racing circuit in South Africa has long been awaited by the Alfa Fraternity, and we wish him all the best in making us proud again…..Forza Franco!”
